Juniors: Round 7 Match Report

Another great round of home games. Sadly, Round 8 has been declared a washout, but we’ll look forward to seeing all the teams back at home for Round 9 on 18 July. Some teams may continue training over school holidays, please check with your team’s Manager or Coach for confirmation.

There’s one last Sports Trainer course coming up in August. If your team doesn’t have a Trainer or First Aider, please consider doing the course (the Club covers the costs). Just let your Manager know, or get in touch with us via firstaid@bungendoretigers.com.au. Moving forward to next season, every team will require a qualified League First Aider or Sports Trainer to remove burden our existing trainers having to cover multiple games at a time.

If you haven’t seen it, the monthly newsletter was just released (click here to read it).

We’ll add any missing reports as they become available.

Our Munchkins players seemed to have plenty of energy to burn after their couple of weeks off.  Coach Trevor led eight of the team through some drills and games, encouraging them to work not only as individuals but as team to achieve victory (get the most number of balls back on their team’s side). Once again some excellent runs through the agility poles and towards the tackle bags, as Coach made sure their technique was correct. After several runs and issuing them their shiny new training shirts, the session was quickly done. Munchkins will be back at next home games on 18 July.

Round 7 was played in fine, cool conditions against the Woden Weston Blue side at Mick Sherd Oval. The game was played with all the kids full of energy and willingness to run and tackle. We can see an improvement each week in tackling and running with the ball and this is something that can be worked on for the kids to take on their Rugby League journey. Player awards went to Elijah, Seth & Christian this week which were well deserved. The kids all seem to still be enjoying themselves and in the end it’s all about having fun. We will see everyone at training for our last game this weekend before the school holiday break.

U7 Orange

Well boys Sunday was not our best day of footy. But after some strong encouragement from your coaches at the third break we managed to play some of the footy we all know you guys can play. Try scorers this week were Nelson 3, Jay 2, and Kobi 1. Lets forget this one and get to training on Thursday and have some fun.

U7 Black

Bungendore Tigers U7’s Black would like to thank Valley Dragons U7’s Green team for coming out today. The grounds were soft and the wind icy, however, revelling in the adversity, the teams managed to achieve a dynamic game, showcasing great sportsmanship.

The U7’s black team are displaying some dazzling plays in both attack and defence. And proving to be fierce competitors for future years ahead. With Coaches off the field from next week onwards, this teams focus will be positive communication skills and simply joy and participation within the game! Go Tigers!

U9 Black

U9 Orange

The U9 Orange had a fantastic game against the Woden Rams. They all played so well and demonstrated all the things they have been learning throughout the season. Teamwork was superb and every player stepped up their game. Coach Chem was so proud of them. Tries went to Clay, Tommy and Indy scored an absolute blinder, nearly getting held up but pushing through Woden’s defence to make a great run for the try line. Conversions were very successful with Louis, Tommy, Jason, Tobey and Aiden all impacting the scoreline! It was so exciting to see the improvement across the whole team.

What a nail biter! Was a close game and extremely intense, however we ended up going down to the Bears 16-14.

The boys never gave up right until the final bell, played their hearts out and stood by each other throughout the whole game.

Awards this week went to Jackson who scored his first try and Lochlan A who has been putting in 110% in at training week in/week out.

We have a few boys trialling for the Raiders Rep Team next Monday night and we wish them all the best.
