This round was played in fine, Sunny but cool conditions against the Queanbeyan United Black side at Wright Park. This week we had a full team. Tries were hard to come by this week as the Queanbeyan side had a bunch of dedicated tacklers who weren’t letting anyone through. We were a bit slow to start off with but our defence and running improved throughout the game and at the end it was a hard-earned draw.  Player awards went to Mason, Jake, Elijah, and Sebastian this week which were well deserved. At the end it is great to see the kids all still smiling and having fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone at training and at our next game which is at home.

What a great weekend of footy for our boys. After running the senior tigers out for their game on Saturday the boys turned up ready to go on Sunday against the Rams at Curtin. With the Rams kicking of we had first use of the footy and it didn’t take long for the boys to cross the line with this weeks captain Nelson opening the scoring with the 1st of his 5 tries for the day great work Nelson. It was great to see after being a little off in defence last week everyone of the boys made it onto the tackle count today with it being a very tight contest for our tackler of the week trophy. What was equally pleasing was the improved effort the boys showed to stay away from the side line this week, with Pat and Will leading the way taking the ball up straight and hard through middle. Try scorers this week were plentiful with both Bailey and Jimmy crossing for their first tries for the season well done boys, other try scorers were Nathan 1, Kobi 2, Blake 1, Jay 2 and Nelson with his 5 also collected the Tackler of the Week trophy. I also want to congratulate all the boys on showing great sportsmanship by letting one of the Rams newest players score his first try, well done boys. Player of the week awards this week went to Will, Nathan and Blake well done boys keep it up. Great game this week boys, and well done representing the junior tigers at the seniors game on Saturday, thank you (and all the parents), rest up and I’ll see you all on Thursday.

The U7’s played the Tuggeranong Knights on Sunday. The weather was beautiful and the players were once again outstanding! The team is progressing into a group of players who support each, work together effectively, have fun and who are creating great friendships along the way.

Each player is shining through with their individual character and game sense, and we enjoy watching every minute of player participation. Well done team!

With a tricky start to the game with some complications with the try line the team proved their resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

Kids played so well and keep on showing amazing team work week on week.

Tommy took out player of the week with lots of tries despite having half the game on the bench. Tobey got awarded coaches award as he showed amazing determination and played with his heart all game providing great team work.

We were so proud to see how the team is growing together and are excited to watch the team progress further as the season unfolds.

Our young guns found themselves again up against strong opposition who not only had the physical advantage but were also very well disciplined, and proved too slick for our U10s.

That said, yet again our Tigers gave of their very best throughout the match by tackling hard, defending well, passing the ball along the line and outside, as well as showing real grit and determination in all aspects of the game.

We only found ourselves on the scoreboard once, following a dazzling run by your Lachlan Wyeth and his successfully putting over the conversion. However, the team as a whole showed real determination and continued to play their hearts out, and were resounding victors in terms of effort.

Our standouts this week however were Bree and Kiri in recognition of their outstanding efforts.

Heading in to Round 5 we are back home at Mick Sherd Oval and we would really appreciate your turning out to cheer on our youngsters on Sunday – and we’ll also give you Monday off as a bonus!

Go you Tigers!!!!

Last week’s game was a 110% effort by all the boys. First half was even scores at 6 all. Our team scored first try and conversion. This pumped the team up and defence was at the forefront front to keep score even at half time.

Second half was dominated by West’s as we let down our defence tactics. We are progressing well as a team.

Final score was 22 to 12.

Proud is an understatement! This group of young men represented the Club in an honourable way on Sunday. After we shook off the nerves, the boys went into the game with determination and focus. Despite our opposition losing their cool a few times, we remained calm and in control which had us come away with a win 28-14.

Two fantastic tries by Matthew W earned him one of our awards along with our tackling machine Lachlan M who received the second award.

Following the game our boys formed a tunnel and performed the Viking Clap for the SCORE Raiders team. One of our parents was approached by a SCORE representative and they highly commended our boys stating they were respectful young men and we should be very proud of them.

They just keep getting better and better each week. Well done boys!
