It was a very frosty start to our home games for Round 3. Thanks again to everyone for coming and supporting the teams and especially to all of our volunteers for all you do. Team reports below (we will add any missing reports as they become available).
It was great to see our fresh-faced Munchkins participants back for another week of fun. The slightly early start didn’t dissuade our youngest Club members and Coach Trevor got to welcome some new faces too. The girls and boys wowed the crowd of parents, grandparents and other interested onlookers as they demonstrated their ball passing ability, ran through agility poles and pads to score their tries. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next home game.

This round was played in fine, Sunny but cool conditions against the Kangaroos White side at Mick Sherd Oval. We were down in numbers due to sickness but the kids that were there, although cold, were soon out and playing. Tries were a plenty this week and the tackling was superb. Our defence is improving in leaps and bounds and it is good to see that the kids are taking on the skills passed on at training and now using them in the games. Not that we are counting but well done on having the most tries at the end. Player awards went to Harry, Kiff and Ashton this week which were well deserved. At the end it is great to see the kids all smiling and having fun. We also had team photos on Thursday which saw our new uniforms arrive just in time. See everyone for our next game on Sunday which is away at Wright Park.

This week the boys played the Knights team we first met at the knock out in Goulburn this year and some how they were even bigger than when we played them then. Undeterred the boys took to the field with great enthusiasm and played some great team footy working the ball down field well with Jimmy, Pat and Will all going very close to notching their first tries for the year. Blake and Nathan both made plenty of meters with the ball and got in to help with defence all game. While free flowing end to end footy is great to watch coach Trev would really like to see the boys making more tackles on game day. Try scorers this week were Lucas 1, Nelson 1, Kobi 4 as well as a player of the week award and Jay with 3 and also collected a player of the week and the tackler of the week trophy. Rounding out the player of the week awards for this round is Jimmy who was also our captain, for his great involvement in attack and defence this week, keep it up Jim. Well done to all the boys and see you all at Curtin on Sunday.

U10s Junior Tigers go down fighting against Valley Dragons
Our brave young lion hearts never give up attitude certainly shone through at the Mick Sherd Oval last Sunday, giving of their very best in a gruelling and physically demanding game.
We always knew it was going to be tough playing in a higher division this year and this was the U10s first real exposure to the tougher side of the game. What was great to see was that despite a number of hard knocks and injuries – thankfully nothing serious – the spirit of your players was evident throughout the game!
From the kick-off and the first hit up our players had to get down low and tackle hard and the opportunities to run the ball freely, were few and far between. However, whenever we had possession we ran hard, spreading the ball wide. In the first half the team’s efforts were richly rewarded by tries in the left corner, from Jack and Lachlan which they both successfully converted.
While it was always going to be difficult in a demanding second half, again the Tigers fitness and all-round efforts ensured we were always in with a chance. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to score but our Tigers played their hearts out – with their never say die attitude and spirit shining through.
Our Tigers can certainly all hold their heads up high for the passion and pride shown and the fairness and integrity displayed in all that they did. If we could give an award to everyone this week we certainly would – they all deserve a special mention. Our standouts this week however were Max, Dan and Lachlan O’Dea, in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
Having strengthened their resolve from this week’s game and by maintaining a high level of performance we are sure that our youngsters will bounce back as we head into Round 4, especially with the continued fabulous support of families and friends,
Go you Tigers!!!!

On Sunday the 16th of May, the Bungendore Tigers U/14s played against the Valley Dragons. Congratulations to the boys on their first win of the season with the final score being 26 to 24. What a nail biter!
The boys should be commended for their outstanding fairness of play. We are proud of their attitude and ability to play an honest and disciplined game. They look out for each other and work well as a team. It was great to see Dexter supporting us from the sidelines too!
Cooper T was one of our award winners this week, he scored three tries against the Dragons!
Tyler was another award winner for the passion he showed, with some big strong carries.
Congratulations to our other try scorers Dilan and Tremaine; and Jack for converting three of our five tries. It was great to see the team celebrating and commending each other after each try.
Following their game against the Dragons, the Tigers versed Score Raiders. This was a great experience for the boys and they enjoyed an extra challenge following their game. They definitely played their fill on the day. Well done, Tigers!
