Will be back out at home this weekend.
Well what a wonderful day for footy Sunday was and I’m sure a few parents were equally happy with the later start time. The boys all turned up ready to play today with everyone tackling hard and running equally hard as well. We kicked off and right from the get go Nelson, Will and Pat got into tackling and kept the Blues out and we got the ball from the hand over. Our little men Jimmy and Nev were great out of dummy half as usual giving great service to our ball runners, with Blake, Lucas and Jay making plenty of long runs in the good conditions. Special mention goes to Nev who also found his running game this week scoring 2 great long range tries, other tries scorers were Nelson 2, Jay 4, and Lucas 5!!! Outstanding game by all where any one of the boys would have been worthy player of the week winners but that honour went to Jay this week. Even the Blues coach was impressed with all of you stating that you were the best tackling team they have played against. It is great to see all the boys getting involved and seeing the improvement in them from week to week. At the moment we may only have two more weeks this year so let’s get to training, rip in and finish the season on a high.
Well what a superb day to be hitting the field! The sun was out and it was lovely and warm. This week we took on the Roos Grey team. They were fast and their defence was hard as usual! After having a few weekends off and missing training sessions due to the wet grounds, we were a little bit rusty and out of tune for the start of the game. Coach Dan made a call to stay off the field for a majority of the game and this was a huge turning point for our players. They started to work really well together and started understanding and thinking about where they were to be positioned. They ran some good lines straight up the centre and worked hard together in their tackling. It was a great to watch and ended up being a very even game! Well done to our whole team for a great effort!
This week was hard to choose as they all played awesome but our player of the week award goes to Lennon. He ran in some excellent tries, he worked really hard as a team player and his tackling skills were a standout! Well done Lennon!
The U8 Blacks played a great game in the beautiful sunshine. They showed great team work throughout and were excellent in defense. Tries went to Blake, Will, Aiden and John. Players of the match were Blake and Tommy.
What a fabulous all round performance by our young brave hearts who showed real grit and determination in all aspects of the game.
Facing a team that outsized them significantly, the Tigers gave 100% from start to finish.
Working hard for each other, they tackled well and made some great darting and weaving runs.
While the scoreboard was never going to be in our favour, the Tigers’ spirit never diminished and was justifiably rewarded with tries in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Amidst a brilliant team effort, Bree and Max shone through as our star players for their hard tackling and hit ups, as well as great carries with the ball; they are both justifiably rewarded with this week’s Coach’s award.
Go the Tigers!
(PS – our U9’s are famous again! Check out their photo on the official NSWRL Instagram page and give it some likes!)
Our Under 10’s are improving each and every week! They were short again on players but never gave up. The defence from Jack T and Johnnie E was outstanding with Jack scoring 3 tries and taking home the coaches award. Logan H received the Managers award and is improving week by week. We won 46-28 against the Valley Dragons and are sitting 4th on the ladder
Other teams’ reports may be added when they become available. Photos of some games are not available due to Child Protection requirements.
