Round 7 saw the U14 girls take on the Tuggeranong Buffaloes at Kambah playing fields. The girls started strong with the score at half time 30-0 to Bungendore. All players had a fantastic defensive game and by full time the score was 44-4 to Bungendore. Great tries from Ellie, Brenna, Tarsha and Joey and some awesome conversions from Hannah and Madeline H.

It was a cold and windy home game this week where we took on the Queanbeyan Blues U9 White team. Cold conditions proved challenging today, with injuries in every quarter being made worse by the freezing wind. The boys pushed on though with some excellent defence and brave attack; Hughie scored in the first quarter however Blues crossed twice. As the game went on, our players grew more determined – hard runs by Murray and Dom and some great defenders in Hugo, Luca, Jay and Ollie. Geordie had a couple of inspirational runs; Hughie was again a try stopping machine and Liam had his best game this season – in both attack and defence. We held the Blues back for the first half of the game, fatigue and frustration crept in though and some quick tried by the Blues kept them ahead. Our team really pulled together in the final quarter. Pat on the back to Aiden too; while he was out with injury he gave the boys support from the bench as much as he could. Kicking was difficult today with the wind however Jay, Ollie and Liam all managed to convert their kicks. A try each to Jay and Liam and a massive 4 tries to Hughie! Player of the match went to Liam, Tackler of the week to Hughie and Trev’s pick for Coaches Footy cards went to Luca. Well done boys, and a big happy Birthday to Hugo, glad we could get the win for you!

U/7 Orange Vs Qbn Blues Gold
We have had a few weeks off due to a bye and then the long weekend and it showed in the boys today. Their defence efforts and ability to tackle got left somewhere between the last game we played and today! If anyone happens to stumble across it, we would love it back . But all in all, the boys were still strong in attack and scored a mountain of tries. Some great runs today by Eli and Tom. Will was our standout with a bank full of tries and the most tackles and therefore, he received our player of the week award. There was no Tackler of the Week as no one made the minimum threshold!!
Off to Wright Park next week. With no coach on the field! Wish us luck!

Round 7 – U9 Tigers Orange vs Queanbeyan Blues Black
After a week off, the Tigers U9 Orange Team were refreshed and ready to go for a great game of footy against the Queanbeyan Blues. With Owen leading the team this week as captain, the boys again enjoyed a great start to their match running through with a team mate tunnel from the U9 Black team mates- thanks guys!!
It was time for kick off and it wasn’t long until our own Speedy Gonzales sprinter, Kobe, was running down the sideline to score the first try of the game. This was then followed by Nelson who palmed off a couple of Blues players to land the second try. After warming up and landing some good tackles to keep the Blues from scoring, the first quarter was done. Q2 saw some more great tackles especially from Christian and Joe, supported by Lachie and Ollie. Kobe got another try in and Ollie supported with a conversion. Unfortunately the Blues saw a couple of gaps in the defence line and got 3 tries down. The mighty Tigers regrouped at halftime and by the middle of the 3rd quarter were back on top with tries scored by Nathan and Nelson, converted by Nathan and Owen. The boys again defended their line well and again held out the Blues from scoring. The final quarter saw the Tigers able to keep their momentum with some great tackles by Ollie, Owen and Nathan with 2 more tries by Lucas. The try of the game (perhaps this season) was scored in the final seconds of the match with Kobe running the length of the field and throwing the ball to Lucas to score his third try under the post just on the final buzzer – what great teamwork boys!!!
Player of the Week went to Christian with 10 tackles under his belt, Tackler of the Week was Nelson with a new record for total number of tackles for a game and Team Player went to Kobe, for sensational passing and supporting his team members. Great job U9 Orange!!! See you all on Sunday at Wright Park to play the Qbn Blues White team.

Big game by the boys. We were up against a very good Blues team. We started slow in the cold weather but once the boy’s warmed up they played so well as a team. Remmy got our man of the match with some great runs and tries, but best of all was his Tagging. Another big one this Sunday against another Blues team.
